The Financial Services Commission in South Korea has permitted banking agency services to offset the inconvenience caused by the decrease in bank branches. This service will allow consumers to conduct simple face-to-face transactions outside of bank branches, including customer consultations, credit information inquiries, and application submissions. The service will initially be offered through post offices, credit unions, and savings banks, but not internet-only banks. The authorities are also considering expanding the network of joint ATMs and activating cash withdrawal services at convenience stores.
