The Financial Services Commission in South Korea has allowed banking agency services to reduce the inconvenience caused by the reduction of bank branches. This allows consumers to perform simple tasks face-to-face in places other than bank branches, with services limited to customer consultation, credit information inquiry, application form submission, and notification of loan approval status and contract details. The Commission plans to pilot the banking agency service in July, initially entrusting agency services to post offices, corporations where banks are major shareholders, credit unions, and savings banks, but excluding internet-only banks.
