Korea Exchange has identified the cause of a recent computer glitch during trading hours as a conflict between new ‘mid-price orders’ and existing logic. The glitch, which led to a delay in transaction settlement, was triggered by a discrepancy in the quantity of mid-price orders in the calculation of the transaction quantity for anti-wash trading condition bids for Dongyang Steel Pipe’s stock. To prevent similar incidents, the exchange plans to conduct joint inspections with the alternative exchange NextTrade every weekend until the end of April.
