The Financial and Securities Crime Joint Investigation Team of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors’ Office recently conducted a search at the headquarters of entertainment agency HYBE, investigating allegations of a former finance executive violating the Capital Markets Act. The executive, identified as Mr. A, is accused of making an unfair profit of approximately 200 million won using undisclosed information from HYBE’s predecessor, Big Hit Entertainment. Financial authorities and police are also investigating allegations against HYBE’s chairman, Bang Si-hyuk, of deceiving shareholders and fraudulent unfair trading in relation to the company’s Initial Public Offering (IPO).
