Interest in ’employment-linked contract departments’ in South Korea, which guarantee employment and tuition support through agreements between universities and companies, is growing. These departments are particularly prevalent in advanced fields at major companies such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, LG Display, and Hyundai Motor. The Jiniksa Admissions Strategy Research Institute has reported that for the 2026 academic year, 13 universities will offer 18 such departments. The most common selection method for these departments is comprehensive student record evaluation. However, due to high competition, the institute advises caution when applying.
