The Seoul Metropolitan Government is set to announce an ordinance that integrates public-supported private rental housing for youth, elderly, newlyweds, and Seoul-style shared housing into one building. Previously, these types of housing were operated separately, but the new ordinance will allow all four types to coexist in one building. The move is aimed at revitalizing the construction market and creating a ‘win-win’ structure where tenants can live at lower rents and private operators can receive benefits such as increased use area, acquisition tax and property tax reduction.
