Samsung Display CEO, Lee Cheong, has expressed concern over Chinese companies rapidly catching up in the IT small and medium-sized display market, including OLED. According to market research firm TrendForce, Samsung Display ranked second in the global smartphone panel market last year, with China’s BOE taking first place. Lee’s plan is to maintain a technological lead through investment and continuous research and development, with a strategy to strengthen Samsung Display’s position in IT and vehicle panels for small and medium-sized displays, and premium TV panels for large displays.
